When Adobe changed from expensive annual upgrades to inexpensive
monthly tax, I jumped right in. It's cost-effective and rather nice to
always have the latest/greatest. There are a lot of value-add features
that make it a no-brainer for me. Best of all, with "Process Version
5", it has breathed new life into older camera files. $120 per year
for Adobe Tax is saving me at least that much in camera upgrades.

I've been testing this new AI uprez feature on E-1 files. First of
all, the workflow is a hot mess, but I think that won't take long to
be integrated into Lightroom so it's just a click away. But does it
work? Yes it does. For a 5MP E-1 file, it provides probably around 50%
effective increase in linear resolution/detail. Where I see the
biggest improvement is the reduction or elimination of halos in
high-contrast edges that we seem to always get with any form of
upscaling.

I'm seeing that it isn't universally good, though. The AI struggles
with some things but for the most part, It's a welcome addition to the
toolkit.
