As Photome indicated the LensModel field was correct with the Viv S190-100 but
the Lens type field and Lens ID showed the
CV 125 macro. LR seems to use the Lens Model field but smugmug one of the
others.
The software would NOT allow me to save the corrected data as was "Not

I am not even sure EX IF Moose can fix this one.

Possibly, but at what cost in sanity?

You are looking at the name tags as though they are all equal and unique.

That's true in the general EXIF. But in the Maker Notes, Sony can do pretty
much whatever they want - and do.

LensInfo and LensModel are in -exifIFD, and easily changed using EXIFtools

LensSpec and LensType are in the Sony Maker section.

Annnd, lets look at that section, including Tag ID nos. for an AF lens on A7R
II:

Oxb02a — LensSpec— FE24-240mm F3.5-6,3 OSS
0x0116 — LensSpecFeatures— FE OSS
0x021c — LensSpecFeatures— FE O99
Oxb027 — LensType—  E-Mount, T-Mount, Other Lens or no lens
0x0107 — LensType2— Sony FE 24-240 mm F3.5-6.3 05S
Ox18ef — LensType—  Sony FE 24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS
0x0060 — LensType2— Sony FE 24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS
0x0009 — LensType3— Sony FE 24-240 mm F3.5-63 OSS

Annnd, I've brought them together in alphabetical order, but in EXIF, they are
not all together, quite far apart, in fact.

Notice that one of the alpha identical "LensType" entries is not the same as the other, and one doesn't even contain the correct lens info.

So . . . Yes, it's possible to change the problem entry, possibly with EXIFTools. Although I don't see anything about using hex IDs in the docs.

But it sure isn't worth it. Just don't screw it up in the first place. Perhaps
save a copy, until EXIF surgery is a success?
