Used my Viv S1 90-180 at 180mm as has nice bokeh. It is a "cult classic" use it
on my OM cams sometimes. It goes natively to 1:2.

Terrific stack!

Used name that lens to get proper exif but pulled down the incorrect profile
first and redid it. LR sees the correct lens but Lens ID and lens model fields
are different and Smugmug displays the wrong lens info. Exif pilot won't let me
fix that field.

It looks like your EXIF problem is twofold.

1. Who/whatever did it at first wrote the name not just into ExifIFD 0xa434, LensModel, but also into the Maker-Sony section in tag 0xb027, LensType.

When you "redid", with a different profile, it did not overwrite the Sony section entry. The profile probably doesn't include that field.

2. Smugmug apparently displays from the Maker Notes. Don't know if that's simple-minded, always using it, or sophisticated, using it in place of universals only when it's there and occupied.

Immediate solution -  Resave jpeg from PSD/TIFF and DON'T use whatever you used
first, app and/or profile.

I'm sticking with .bat files and Windoze Explorer "Send To". Simple, I know what I'm going to get and if I do it wrong, one click corrects it.

When you find the tool that works simply and correctly, let me know.  😉

I think Jim would have liked it.

I imagine so.
