Tricky to remove all that detritus w/u mucking up the negs.  What a cockamamie 
idea to glue on that paper.  

I was digging around on Scan dig and spotted these film holders for curled negs:

I wonder if negs with paper were trimmed to the edge,  and mounted, if that  
would suffice?  Could not scan the whole strip at once but might save an 
horrendous clean up problem if had to soak the strips in a safe solvent.
