Moccasins have been known to drop from low-hanging tree branches into a boat
passing underneath. I heard of one guy who shot a hole in his new aluminum
boat when that happened.

A former co-worker of mine thought it would be cute to run his boat over a
moccasin he observed swimming in a lake. The propellor flipped the snake
into the boat, not a happy outcome.
