My question is what are those 12+ MP of?  Anybody really think that
the average lens out there is able to give 12MP of details?

We're starting to reach the point of optical limits.  A point of
diminishing returns.  It's time for the natering nabobs of negativism
(you can't enlarge past 300ppi) to go large-format digital.
