As a veterinarian, I had few patients whose owners were willing to fork out the
money for cataract surgeries for their pets, but I always recommended an
ophthalmologist exam when cataracts started to become visible, because once
they're dense, you can no longer see the retina. Same concept, ophthalmologist
is recommending a scan now to get a baseline before it's harder to see back
there.
