That's not true. It is true, as far as I can discern, that all the
16 MP sensor Olys so far give the same practical image quality for this sort of landscape work. (E-M5, E-M1, E-M10, E-P5, E-PL5, E-PL6, E-PL7, E-PM2)

Exactly. With the latest firmware, the E-M1 now has conquered
shutter shock (SS) and the newer bodies do so too, including one EFC. But none
of that matters for landscape work.

I agreed with almost everything but SS can intrude at speeds used for landscapes depending on the exact set up/lens. One can be sure that an EFC will eliminate that and the anti-shock delay will mitigate it but it is not clear to me that it is 100% eliminated.

I've taken thousands of shots using 1/8 sec. delay. I've seen no evidence of shutter shock blurring since I've used the delay. If it's there, it's very subtle.

As to the E-M1 and later bodies, "This anti-shock feature was first introduced to the E-M1 in v1.3 firmware. It's a workaround that engages electronic first curtain shutter to avoid the image blur caused by the mechanical shutter."

E-M1, E-M10, E-P5 and E-P7 appear to all have an EFC option. More detail of how it works here. <http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/olympus-pen-e-p5/13/#antishock>

Have not run across any Imatest type analysis to be certain. If I wanted to be sure to have maximal resolution for large prints, would use a shot filled bag or be sure to have an EFC option.

As I proposed before, anyone with a stable of 4/3 lenses should get an E-M1.

I'm quite happy with my E-M5 for my kind of shooting. But if I were looking for a high end µ4/3 body today, I would be looking at the GX7 and E-M10. The E-M10 seems to be essentially an E-M5 without weatherproofing and 5-axis IS, with EFC, better LCD, WiFi, newer processor and tiny flash built-in, for less money.

I've seen a difference in close-up IS performance between the Pen 3-axis IS of the much smaller E-PM2 and the E-M5. So far, I'm not seeing such a difference with the GX7.

I can't see the point of paying for the extra PD AF capabilities of the E-M1, and whatever else they are charging so much for, and getting a larger, slightly heavier body, as I have never had any 4/3 lenses.

This type of analysis with various anti shock delay would be interesting:

Only for the E-M5, as the newer top bodies have EFC. As he says, results will differ with lens and focal length - a huge project for an outdated camera. I like my E-M5, used it today, but would not buy one tomorrow. Things move on.
