You mean as opposed to Bayer-sensor cameras, that "synthesize" 3/4ths of their
pixels, because it takes four sensor pixels to come up with one full-colour
pixel?

So by one way of thinking, a 5 megapixel full-colour sensor is equal to a 20
megapixel Bayer-filtered sensor, no?

Let's face it: it's all Shannon/Nyquist magic. Don't sweat the pixel count --
all you have to ask, is, "Does the results of a vendor's particular form of
magic please my eye, or not?"
