It's not but it is tricky. You have to be very careful what you call things when you import and specify where you wnat them (and the backups) - oh and learn how to change the names 'cos you got it wrong. Once that's done, it's really simple to retrieve folders or bring them in. I'd used PS for a long time so I use a blend of the two - PS provides a level of adjustment that LR can't match (hate the brush tool) but LR has what I now consider essential tools, like better control of colour and exposure. My cuz who knows says that they've had a policy of migrating certain essential features to Lightroom and Bridge.
