Contrary to John's experience, I have never, and I stress _never_, encountered
an OM with a light leak attributable to a missing MD cap, not in 25 years and
literally thousands of OM's. None of my personal OM's even have MD caps (sold
'em or used them in repairs ;^), and I've never had a problem, either.
The only "design" flaw I recall was on early models of the OM-10, which had
three leaks that were addressed and corrected in production -- it's a shame the
lubrication problem wasn't taken care off at the same time, but that's water
(oil?) under the bridge. And some OM-1n/2/2n back covers had a problem with
light reflecting off the film counter's spring, then between the riveted plates
inside the back, finally reflecting off the pressure plate's chrome spring onto
the film (talk about circuitious!).
