Thanks so much, John.

I'll give it a try and I'll let you know of the outcome.  Any hints as
to what to do to stop it recurring. It has occurred twice, and it seemed
to have started happening after my girlfriend got wet by a sea wave. 
She said that the mirror was misted with droplets and that she had wiped
that down...
