I'm familiar with your advice on this. As I said, I'm not working with
noisy images (by my standards). I'm quite happy with the small amount of
NR that GP (and/or Sharpen) does. I haven't figured out exactly how GP
shall work for me routinely. One of the significant uses I see is the
ability it gives me to upsample extractions from E-1 (or any) images. For
example, I was just working with a vertical shot that I decided was more
effective as a horizontal crop. I was able to print this at 13x19 and feel
pretty satisfied with it.

I have become more of a fetishist about sharpening, so I am certainly using
Sharpen AI more than GP, but I'm new to both. Again, NR in both programs
seems sufficient to my needs. I'm "in the past, far past"? Guilty, yer
honor. (I just admitted in another thread that I'm still printing with an
Epson 1400!) I'm honored that you're keeping track. I have a backlog for
various reasons and I'm catching up and, frankly, enjoying myself (which
wouldn't have been the case for most of the last three years). So, sticks
and stones, sue me, slings and arrows of outrageous fortune -- bring 'em
on. My shoulders are broad (that's a metaphor, I'm afraid). I yam what I
yam.

I'm especially happy feeling that there is an afterlife for my E-1 images,
mostly because of the shooting I was fortunate to be able to do in that
era. Whether I'll actually shoot a lot more with that camera I can't say
but can't rule out. AG and I have been trading some private email about
gear and because I'm sort of split between going towards the E-M1 route and
the A7 route, I'm standing pat. In truth, I'm just very comfortable with
the E-5 and occasionally the 5DmkII. I feel like I know them well and yet
still hardly know them. Not ready to put them to pasture.

A shame you can't hear that voice - or can you? Here's ethereal.

Very nice! I put on the good headphones for that one! Got more?
