Nah, that's wrong. The lens tests from Modern Photo (and others) show it
is sharper or as sharp as the 1.4 at various apertures, plus of course it
goes to 1.2.
That said the 1.4 is a nice lens, no doubt, and a whole lot cheaper than
the 1.2, of course. Ideally have all 3, the 1.8, 1.4, 1.2. The 1.8 makes
a decent loupe also.
