If JDubs' 50/1.2 is any indication, I'd say that it's sharp e'nuf.

I've never gotten along well with the 1.8. They do make good loupes,
but otherwise, I've just gone "meh" at them. Now, if it had Zeiss or
Leitz stamped on the rim, they would go for $1500 instead of $15.

The lens which nobody has mentioned yet is the real star of the 50mm
show. It's the 50/2 macro. For those wondering, I'm talking about the
OM-Z lens, not the DZ lens, but both are equally as worthy. If you
want sharpness and behaved bokeh, the 50/2 is the way to go.
