Yes. That's what I normally use. However, if there are strong
hard-edged lines which alias, I turn sharpening all the way off.
Bicubic in PWP5 is about the best all-around one.

Transformation-Sharpen-Sharpen. Set it at 50-65% and do it twice.

If you right-click on the preview window it gives you zoom options.

One recommendation I have for reducing images for web-display. Don't
sharpen the image PRIOR to downsizing. In fact, blur the images if
there are any sharp edged lines running at an angle across the image.
If the image is too sharp prior to downsizing you'll get those
stair-step lines. Here is an example of how downsizing with a slightly
blurred image helps:

Moose, I tried duplicating the look of your web images with one of my
files. I believe the problem you are running into is caused by USM
applied to an image after resizing with a radius between 1 and 2
pixels. You just want pixel-sharpening only. Also, the resizing
operating is aliasing the details of the image. By applying a bit of a
blur prior to the resize and then an aggressive pixel-sharpening
afterwords it will make those leaves look about right.

Finally, in regard to JPEG... Oh, that's another post.
