I've never noticed whether mine do or not.  But if the modeling light is 
off during recycle you'd get a slightly faster recycle.  Not much 
advantage when running on the mains but I sometimes run my lights on 
battery power through a true sine-wave inverter.  Recycling all four 
from a full dump requires about 3 seconds on the battery.
