I ventured to remove the mirror on the scanner and clean it using PecPads
and some digital camera sensor cleaner. 

Here is the result test. Maybe I have a working scanner again.
And, after replacing the mirror, my scans no longer appear
2 degrees tilted.

Too bad I tossed all that Provia from the fridge. I wonder how long
it lasts sitting in the basement.
