Rob in Seattle asked;
As far as I can tell IS is the only real advantage of the e-520.
(Besides longer battery life and a couple extra direct buttons.) Oh
esteemed listers, is it worth it? I suspect so, but I'm wondering if
you all can back it up with experience.

Jim in Everett/Maltby here;
I would whole-heartedly recommend you swap for the 520. I've shot the
510 with a hefty 3rd party zoom on it (Sigma 50-500), IS on, and got
what I found to be great results. Also shot legacy glass (500mm Z
mirror lens), IS on, same result.
Same for the DZ 70-300 on it.
My only experiential comparison is to E-300/E-500. OK, but the IS makes
a very noticeable difference in what you're able to get away with hand
held. Go for it.
I'm tempted to do the 520 just to get the third IS option (ability to
pan in portrait orientation).
See if B&H will make you a deal on a two-fer.
