Winsor's link mentioned that some of the Viv 283's have trigger voltage of 300
V, like the one I have labeled MIJ.
Could lead to an expensive digicam zap. Others have a safe 6V TV.
Interesting they liked the Metz. Saw some old posts that Skip W. often used a
Metz 54 MZ-3 with the sca 321? adapter on OM to good effect. It appears Metz
never made an adapter to use their newer flashes in High speed sync mode,
though it would likely not have been too tough. I wonder if the newer ones can
be used with that adapter on OM (I think requires acc shoe 4) and a 5D? Also,
never liked the fact Canyon used IR remote for slave triggers. Line of sight
may not be convenient. Cheap yabe wireless (or fancy Quantum) radio triggers
(as per Dr. Flash) seem much better.
