Bill has already given you better than I could Wayne, but I will emphasise
one point that Bill made - DO NOT SELL AS A SYSTEM.

The best bargains I have had one that auction site have been "Complete sets"
which I have then broken down to sell piecemeal the items I didn't want.
The result is that most of my OM collections has been acquired (net of the
on-sales) for almost nothing. I wish I could say "all", but 3Ti and 24/3.5
don't come in bargain packs like that.

And to put it the other way round (and to indicate that it isn't all take on
my part), a fellow camera club member who shoots exclusively Nxxxn digital
realised I used Olympus, and mentioned that he had a couple of OM2n bodies,
various lenses and flash guns, almost all in boxes, which he had offered to
dealers to sell, without any success at all. I suggested that there should
be no problem selling... And offered to put my words into action. So far he
has netted well over USD1000 from one-off piece by piece sales, many to
fellow list members. Certainly, some of that is due to this list (thank you
all), but I suspect that PDML might be a good place to look.

You maight want to give thought to the sequence in which you offer the
separate items. For example, if I had a complete MD set to sell, the MD
would close first, then the NiCad, finally the Charger, with sufficient gaps
between them to allow the successful bidder to bid on each of the other
items.

Subject: [OM] OT system for sale

I have a friend who wants me to sell a P*ntax 645 MF manual focus system for
him. He has never traded on the auction site, so has no feedback record, so
we thought it better to sell it under my feedback history as I have 100%
positive. He shoots L*ica R4 himself so doesn't use it. He bought the MF
system, used, for his wife. She shoots weddings with a M*inolta XD11, but
she never learned to use the MF system. I think it was a bit too big
physically for her to handle comfortably.
So it has had very minimal use as far as I know. I don't have it right in
front of me, but the last time I looked at it it was in very excellent
condition, looking to have almost no use. I believe it consists of the
body, a 75mm, a 150mm, a system flash of some sort, and a couple backs.
I really have no idea of it's worth, so I guess I'll have to search around a
bit on the auction site. Also, I don't know whether to try listing it as a
system, or individaul pieces.
Any advice is appreciated. Or if anyone here might be interested, contact
off-list.
Wayne
