Perhaps better, Jim, would be to make sure also that the screen in the 2n is
*not* one that gives a metering problem, and those are 1-5, 1-6, 1-7, 1-9
(!) or any 2-series screen.

A further possibility is that the meter reading (but not exposure) in the 2n
is being distorted by stray light entering the eyepiece.

Yes, it is an OM2n - and I did change the screen not too long ago. I'm
going to swap the screens around with the OM4 and see if I get a closer
reading. I realize this is unscientific and only a bench test would really
resolve the issue - and for this weekend, I'm going to use a handheld meter
with the OM4. I'm shooting a pilot for a potential reality series that
Animal Planet is interested in and I need a lot of slides, so I don't want
to take any chances!

If the special screen were in the 2N, that would affect the needle reading
in the finder (would make needle go too high) but would not affect auto
exposure.
