The 35RD has a very sharp lens even wide open at F1.7, no noticeable
falloff. But most 35RD got from ebay need CLA (I do it myself), the
main problem is oil on shutter leaves.

I have three 35RDs, one early version is very accurate in auto
exposure, shutter speed and aperture, it has different construction
from the later one. There are some problem with my two later version,
their shutter and aperture is accurate but the auto does not. I have
not figure out how to make the calibration yet, when the finder meter
match with the manual aperture setting the auto shifted at least one
stop, there are also problem with exposure linearity. If you use them
in manual mode that is fine.

The design of 35RD looks simply but there are three mechanism to
control the aperture, one is flashmatic, usually fine with no
adjustment needed, the second is manual aperture, can be adjusted
without great difficulty, the third is auto, seems need to bend a
shaft to adjust, very critical. Finally the aperture display only
match either one or two.

After a full oil cleaning, the reliable of the camera is very good, it
has a very smooth and silent shutter.
