There was a case a few years back in New Jersey; the mall owner had
banned political activity. The NJ Supreme Court protected the civil
rights of those at the mall, essentially saying that malls are the
defacto Main Streets of their communities, and that all enjoy the same
rights (within reason) inside as they do on the street. Mall owners
nationwide fought this tooth and nail but the Justices did the right
thing. I don't know where else in the US that courts have gone this
far.
Maybe we should have an OM list gathering at Paramus Park Mall the day
after Thanksgiving. . . .
