I know people who've had both done at the same time, and had a couple of weeks of inconvenience; depends on your living/working circumstances. My opthalmologist would only do them at a minimum two weeks apart, which I chose. I also chose "distance" rather than "near" vision for both, not trusting my brain to be able to reconcile two disparate images.

I tested and bought "drurstore" glasses for the intervening weeks, removing the unneeded len.

Be aware that lenses are manufactured in discrete "steps", you'll have closest match, so unless there are premium or bespoke lenses available for a close match, you may end up with slightly different vision - I am approximately 20/20 in one eye and 20/25 in the other.

There are options for degrees of correction of astigmatism, too. The clinic I used offers five options for scans/lenses: spherical (ultrasound scan: [my] gov't pays full cost; IOL master/laser scan: $200 both eyes), aspheric ($780-$1,220 both eyes), toric with astigmatism correction ($1,750-$2,320 both eyes), and presbyopic/multifocal ($2,460-$3,420 for both eyes); increasing prices. I paid a total of about CAD1,800, for toric, in 2022.

Would you recommend one at a time or both? Obviously both would mean
general immobility for a short time.

Looks much the same as what I experienced when I had my cataract surgery. I
had One eye done first then the other about 4 weeks later, it was an easy
comparison in those intervening 4 weeks.

I have not been too active here, sorry...

After cataract surgery

Not sure how much will change as my eyes adapt?
