Insert the card in computer - works with SDs only, for Oly's original cards and 
Nikon CF I also have to use a card reader.
Ansser yes to LR's prompt pop-up to make a DNG copy of its content wherever it 
pleases it to do so.
Take the card out.
Insert in camera, reformat. Never felt the need or use to reformat from the 
computer. 
Shoot.

The only trouble I've had with LR in 8 years and over 75,000 files  was caused 
by a faulty Kodak CF card bought abroad.

If there's one thing LR does extremely well for you, it is the tedious task of 
file management whatever the camera maker, even fuji's … 

Ask Tina for confirmation ;-)
