When I was knee-deep in geology courses at university, we had "ended" the
Cenozoic and initiated the Psycozoic. At the time we didn't get the pun, and
bought we were talking about a new era in which self-awareness had come to be.
Now, of course, we get the pun, and the joke is pretty much on all of us.
New glaciation. Ice moving south out of Canada. Canadians and North Americans
moving south into Mesoamerica. Reverse illegal immigration. Irony?
