I didn't think that any airways beacons were left. VORs replaced them.
But a quick bit of research shows that there might still be some in
operation up in the mountains of Montana.

It was my understanding that the airways beacons didn't rotate, but
that isn't quite correct. There was a rotating white beacon running at
6 rpm. Then there were the red or green coarse lights which flashed
out the Morse code of one of ten possible letters. A red coarse light
was for a beacon placed along a route, a green coarse light indicated
that it was at an airport.

VORs were a nice upgrade.
