Fernando,
        With regard to the incipient battery drain, the short answer is
no. If the camera is not going to be used for a while just remove the
battery. Turning the shutter speed dial to red 60 does however prevent
the meter from being turned on when the shutter button is lightly
depressed. It is useful when carrying the camera in a bag to prevent
wasting the battery.
