That is one step that has been left out. I cannot find anywhere that
says to press the OK button.
I guess it is suppose to be understood.
I had a similar situation with a new GPS.
I had never used it before and my wife, daughter and son-in-law wanted
to use it.
After powering it on a message came up and although everyone selected OK
many times the message box would not go away.
They had to once again use a map for the day.
When I returned home that evening I picked up the GPS and saw the
message. For some reason, knowing that many had tried all day to clear
the message, I double pressed the OK button and the message went away.
But on the telephone I could not think of what would clear it. Who would
of though of a double click?
Again, not in the instructions.
