Whenever I get a call from a digital user who's having problems, they
say, "blah, blah, blah...my camera doesn't work", then I say "what
happened to it?". Then they say something like "the lcd is cracked" or
"the zoom is tilted". "So, you dropped it?". "It's still under the
warranty, will you fix it for free?" "No one will fix it for free,
dropping it cancels the warranty". "Well, after you fix it, will that
re-instate the 1 year warranty?" . "No, the 1 year warranty is gone
forever once you drop it." Maybe these are the people who filled out
the survey card for CR.
