Right now I have an E-500 with the two kit lenses, and a C7070; an E-1 may
be on the way (or at least to my mother's UK address). I find that I do most
of my present digital photography with the C7070, as it is much easier to
carry about with non-photo things, and seems to be more 'acceptable' at
family gatherings. I have it set to RAW most of the time. It has an amazing
number of facilities, many more than the E-500. It also has 7 megapixels, a
great lens (28-110 equiv), a 19mm wide-angle, full manual support, very
flexible screen, great build quality with a magnesium chassis, etc.; made in
Japan too. It fits the hand beuatifully. As a 'family' camera it is
unbeatable. Hard to understand why Olympus discontinued it so fast, as soon
as it was voted European Compact Camera of the year....

I am really looking forward to trying the E-1 (if it materialises). The
E-500 functions fine, but feels made down to a price; however , it produces
great photographs.
