When you buy an OM1 figure that a CLA is going to be part of the
purchase price. Don't use the price of the camera as a decision
whether to service it.

For camera service, I wouldn't shop around. There is a Olympus
specialist in California who generally does very good work but seems
to disappear from time to time. If you are very very patient,
everything will probably work out fine. I pretty much always use John
at www.zuiko.com or Clint at www.olyfix.com now.

I had a Tamron lens serviced by a Sacramento repair center that was
recommended by Tamron. They couldn't fix it and ended up sending it to
Tamron in New York. It took over 6 months to get it fixed and the bill
had a $180 error which they corrected after I pointed it out.

I bought a LNIB OM4T which which had a wind problem due to sticky
grease. I sent it to John. I bought an OM which had a 2+ year old
service tag from John and the camera looked clean. It gave me problems
and I sent it to John.

I've been very happy with the work both John and Clint have done for
me. If you plan on keeping the camera, it's worth the cost of the
service.

YMMV, good luck,
-jeff
