I have two suggestions Priit:

Hamburg has been for many years the Olympus Europe main office, and is the
base for Frank Timmann, who (like John H) was once an Olympus tech, but now
runs his own shop, claiming to have 34 years experience with OM cameras.
His new address is Billstedter Hauptstr. 67, 22111 Hamburg Tel: (+49) 40
65045836 I do not have any first hand experience of his work, but do know
that he has a good reputation.

In UK I have always used Luton Camera Repair Services without either problem
or cause for complaint. Their main location is 49, Guildford Street, Luton,
Bedfordshire, LU1 2NJ Tel: (+44) 1582 458323 Others will have different
recommendations!

Both locations are reasonably near airports if you wish to give your OM
equipment VIP treatment!

By the way, I have many times intended to congratulate you on your
impeccable written English, which puts to shame many of us who claim it as
our mother tongue. Would that my Estonian stretched to more than one word
:-)

I've been wondering, does everyone ship their cameras to John or Clint? I
know there are a lot of listmembers from Europe who have several of OM
bodies, shipping it out and back into EU seems expensive.

I absolutely have faith that if I sent my gear to John he'd do a terrific
job, the problem is that I dislike the idea that I have to pay taxes to the
government for it. Paying the VAT several times for one camera gets kind of
old.

Anyway, back to the point. Are there any good alternatives inside the EU?
I have two OM bodies that are perfectly usable as they are now but needing
minor repair/CLA, and I don't trust the local repairmen enough :) Would be
very grateful for any advice.

priit.
