[OM] My second DZ lens, not a moment too soon

I'm happy to say that I have ordered what will be my second DZ lens
once it has arrived, the DZ 50-200. I'm wiggly with excitement.
Should arrive Thursday or Friday.

In the meantime, I have been finding my OM adapter not to work very
well in A mode. I realize now that I have rarely used it in A mode,
preferring just to test chimpmatically for the proper speed and stop
in manual mode. But I was shooting the other day with the 300/4.5 and
noticed gross overexposure at all stops including the ones that
Olympus says should be reasonably OK. I had selected A mode just
because I wanted to get off a couple shots in a hurry.

Perhaps this is normal, but I seem to remember that it was a little
better than this. There is a possible explanation. I tend to keep
caps on the adapter, mostly so that they are handy when I am changing
lenses, so I had the 14-54 rear cap on one side and a spare OM body
cap on the other. One day recently the OM body cap seemed to be
stuck. Turn as I might, it wouldn't come off normally. Finally, I
just ripped it off with all of the strength in my tiny little arms.
Visual inspection suggested no harm, no foul.

But alas now gross over-exposure in A mode. It looks like the only
thing that can be screwed up are the little clips that help keep the
adapter tight against the mount on the camera, but the thing mounts
perfectly. Lens stops down correctly. Still works OK in M mode
(though it wants to be about 1.5 stops underexposed to get a good
histogram (actually, this is fairly consistent with past experience).

Perhaps this is how it works when trying to test A mode on an 18% gray day?

Puzzled, and ready to kiss this whole adapter business good-bye,
Joel W.
