His official title is rather meaningless. What he does is act as the
presidential pit bull, dirty tricks guy and spin doctor. Seems like all
politicos have one these days and Rove is rather good at what he does
hence the liberal antipathy. All of his ilk stretch the truth however he
has on more than one occasion gone well beyond decency and good taste
(e.g. Terry Shivo and Cindy Sheehan) and  stepped over the line of
legality by exposing US secret agents.
