I have a silver-bodied OM1n on which I mount a silver nose 50/1.8, or sn
35/2.8, which I finish off with an original Oly metal chrome ringed hood,
that I take out when I want the camera to look "stylish". I know an OM1
might look a bit more the period than an OM1n, but only a list member would
likely ever notice the difference. I'm not sure what you'd put on it for a
flash to complete it, but I'd probably opt for something on a handle mount.
I suppose a flash with bulb would be best. Might be something for me to
research.
Another thing I do is make up a kit of the OM1n and all Vivitar lenses, or
maybe all Kiron lenses.
I hadn't really thought about any of my cameras looking old, until maybe
about 3 years ago I was going through security at an airport, and the
attendant made some comments about my antique camera. He was quite excited
about seeing it. At the time it made me feel a little old, as it was only my
original 35RC I had bought in 1973, not antique at all :-)
I haven't yet succumbed to covering a camera in bright red snakeskin
leather.
