Possibly but the thing to remember is that most MFlenses are slower
than their 35mm counterparts. For instance, take the "normal" lense
for 645, it's an 80mm and usually you only see them in 2.8 or 2.0 at
the fastest. The "normal" lens for 35mm is 50mm and you can get them
as fast as 1.0 or even C*n*n's 50/0.95. Granted back when 35mm would
have been usurping MF you may not have had as many of the high speed
options or the quality of more modern high speed lenses but at least
the option was there. Most of the lenses for smaller sensors are the
same speed or slower than their 35mm counterparts.
