Correction.  1.6 stops for the 1.6 crop factor and, as you said, 2 stops 
for the crop factor on 4/3.  This can be hard when you really want to 
narrow the DOF.  When you're already down at 1.4 getting another 1.6 to 
2 stops is pretty tough.  :-)

These same issues must have been fought over tooth and nail as 35mm 
began to displace medium format.
