Yes, I use a 35RC with no shutter lag, but as you say, it is hardly a P&S.
With a bit of pre-focus you could certainly catch the whale on his second
surface, and I think I could do the same with the MJU. Even my MJU 2.8 P&S
is much faster than the C5050 or typical current digital P&S, especially if
the digital camera has gone to sleep, or needs to be turned on. And I think
framing on LCD, which most I see seem to do, is slower, especially if it is
an extra step to turn it on as well, as on the C5050.
Anyways, it's just an opinion of mine, and I probably should have kept it to
myself. Sorry about that, as we sure don't need another thread of digital
versus film.
