If you have a Canon which takes BP-511's check the hundreds of listings
for this battery on oboy. Many of these are 1500 mAh and selling for
less than $5.00 apiece. The Canon original is 1390 mAh (or less) and
sells for $49.95 at B&H.

Sorry, but I can't find the seller from which I bought some Minolta
equivalents or I would post it here. I also pointed some Canon using
friends there who are pleased with their longer lasting BP-511
equivalents. I tested the Minolta 1500 mAh equivalents by setting the
camera on the interval timer and letting it fire away until it ran the
batteries down. No appreciable difference between the Minolta brand and
the low priced spread.

The only down side was no slip-on safety cover to prevent short
circuits. I went to the local craft store and bought some small plastic
boxes which are now used to hold batteries of various types.
