I don't really understand calculation, but based on dpreview's live test, 
the C8080 8MP (with a tiny 2/3" CCD) won the C*non 300D in resolution.

It is also no poorer than E-300.

May be the different is small to someone but I'm expecting to settle with at 
least 12MP DSLR, based on my experience only at this resolution it can come 
close to slides. And I'm pretty sure the E-1 system will reach this 
resolution within two years.
