If memory serves me correctly, I've actually succeeded with
carrying 8 rolls in pants pockets. Of course people will look
at you funny. (is that a brick of Velvia in your pocket or...)
When it's winter, you can carry a bunch in coat pockets. The
trick is to keep them as close to the center of your body as
possible.
I normally don't use much high-speed film, but when I do, I'll
ALWAYS keep those rolls in my pockets when going through
security. Did get frisked once, but that's another story.
The trick is to NOT irritate the security folks. Those rolls
can spend quite a bit of time inside the microwaves if you are a
pain.
