Well, since you already have a little 'home studio', all you need is a
proerly trained guard dog[1,2]. You know, the kind that lets unknown people
in, but doesn't let them out unless told so by the master. :-)

Then, you can watch the burglar waiting and waiting, sweating and
standing, standing and sweating. If you're lucky, Taiwan isn't as
litigious place as some other countries that shall remain unnamed.

[1] Only applies if you have a house with large enough garden to let the dog
enjoy freedom and only if you can take him out for a walk. And of
course, if you're a dog person. Or at least not an anti-dog person.

[2] My parents used to have a great dane for that purpose. Wonderful
doggy, used to make people stand still until a member of the family came
home. Oh, and he was a family dog as well, great with kids.
