The problem with chroma at the edges is due to poor lens design, the E-10
also suffer that, it claimed to have light beam that hit the CCD
perpendicularly. As Winsor mentioned, the X3 chip could be even poor with
normal lens but if they use special lens design that like what Olympus claim
it should be fine. But based on the current performance of single layer CCD
I don't think I need a X3 unless the price can be made similar to the single
layer one.
