I would like to send a big THANK YOU to everybody who has helped me. I
think I exaggerated my position a bit. I have LOTS of B&W film, I roll my
own in the darkroom at school, the art teacher seems to like me and lets me
up there whenever I need to develop or roll more film. As for colour film
(not color in CA), my parents have realized that I am now totally serious
about photography as a lifetime hobby, my dad is never crazy about spending
money, but my mom has been super helpful lately. All I have to do is ask
her and she'll go pick me up a roll. Other than my OM-1n and broken 50, I
have a really nice heavy tripod, a flash, a pneumatic air release, a cable
release, a few filters and a nice bag to put it all in. This might seem a
little bit much for a beginner, but you have to understand what got me into
photography in the first place: ASTRONOMY. I love the stars, and this
summer I decided that I would dabble into astrophotography (I was going to
buy a telescope, but decided that I wanted a camera so I could use it for
other things too). The reason I got an OM-1n is because they are the best
cameras for astrophotography
"Among second-hand models, Nikon F and F2 cameras are unbeatable. The
original Canon F-1 is in the same high class league and has mirror lock-up.
But the camera of choice for many astrophotographers was, and remains the
OM-1. It is a lightweight manual camera with mirror lock-up, interchangeable
screens and a selection of good although not great, lenses. Our best
recommendation for a reasonably priced astrophotography unit is a used OM-1.
But act quickly; they may not be available on the used market for much
longer" ---from the "Backyard Astronomer's Guide"

I don't agree with the "not great" lenses bit, but this did urge me to
act quickly. I bought my camera a one week later, and since then I have
taken a small photography intro at school, and I am currently enrolled in an
8-week course with our city's only real professional photographer. As I
said earlier, film is not really a problem anymore so I think I'd like to
get a couple more lenses. Thanks to everyone again, I really appreciate all
your help. If you have anymore suggestions send them over, I'm all ears!!

    JOSH
