Hey!  I've got a silver-nosed 50/1.8.  It's the only 50mm I've ever
owned so I can't do any comparing but I've never thought it was a bad
lens.  It's my second-most used lens and I have had some very decent
results off it.  For astrophotography it works beautifully.

Hope you're enjoying the list so far, David - bet you had no idea what
controversy would rage over a simple question about standard lenses!
