Hi David,

Well, Provia 100F works the same way: same speed, same processing :)

> I suppose Fuji Provia F is something similar to E100 VS with vivid
saturation.

No, it's actually not. I use both Provia F and E100VS, and the latter is
definitely more saturated, which becomes especially clear during the golden
hours (Joel Wilcox once said his kids looked like "devils on fire" when shot
with E100VS during the golden hours :) ), and on grey and dull days. When
there's ample light, I use Provia F (which gives nicely saturated colours,
yet it does not have a colour cast, so the colours look very natural).
E100VS is GREAT for rainy or otherwise dull days, or when extreme colour
saturation is desired, it compares a lot to Velvia (but I think it's nicer),
I would say. Now that summer is over here, I'll probably be using the E100VS
films a lot (autumn and winter are very grey and dull over here, much more
so than in Spain). Last year I used Provia F on a dull day and the colours
went flat, I used E100VS on a similar day and got lovely saturated colours;
a brilliant film for days like these.

I guess E100S compares to Provia F and E100VS to Velvia.

>How does it work with skin tones?

Lovely, no issues whatsoever, great tonality and nice colours. By the way:
on the contrary to what I see from Velvia, I think E100VS also works lovely
with skin tones (note: as mentioned above I've been advised NOT to use it
during the golden hours for shots of people).

Actually, earlier this year I made a small page about the nice results (in
terms of colours) I got from the E100VS on a day it snowed, you can check it
over here:

Cheers,
Olafo
