Every claim is made for Vegemite - all wrong. Vile muck!
Er - Venables is a Scout leader? Hmmmm!
The 50/3.5 is barely recogniseable - toughest filter ring I've ever done
but it now takes a filter perfectly - as if it never happened. The actual,
rather vigorous hammering involved would have made any Zuikoholic quite
sick but - you have to be cruel to be kind - takes a bit of nerve to
restore a bad ding like that. Spent a while cleaning it with ethanol - very
grubby - followed by a lot of spot touching up with a laundry marker and a
permanent overhead marker pen. Much better. The binding of the lens mount
seemed to be caused by something sticky like label residue - ethanol and a
bit of scotchbrite pad polishing fixed that. The only unresolveable problem
is couple of very minor scratch marks on the rear element shown up by a
strong light - insignificant for me.
Did some work on the 1n as well - looks much better now although I'll have
to fully strip and blow out the viewfinder/screen and do some foam bits.
Both will wait a while.
The trouble I had with the 2sp went away when I polished the batteries -
touchy little buggers.
All in all, a great day - thanks for the cake too! I try an find some way
to return the favor, etc.
Regards
Andrew
