As one who usually lurks, may I second Chris' statement. Don't let the one
percenters who are rude and self-serving rule you. Chris is right: it is
your equipment, your choice, and your right to do with it what you wish.

You're KIDDING, right John? Please tell me your kidding!

Anyone who's new to the list (including you, John), listen up for a
minute. THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

Your equipment belongs to YOU! You can sell it ANY way you WANT!
You can pin a notice on the bulletin board at work, or tape it to a
telephone pole in your neighborhood. You can put an ad in the local
paper. You can post it on an online auction site (E-Bay, Yahoo, etc.).
You can even post a for sale message in OM-Traders (mailto:OM-
Trader@xxxxxxxxxxx)

And, you can put a message HERE, but only if you WISH to do so!
There is NOT any "rule" that "requires" you to offer something to the
people reading this mailing list before you post your ad to E-Bay or, for
that matter, anywhere else!

And, by the way, if you DO post your message here, the ONLY "rule" (if
you can call it that, because it's more of a mutual agreement than
anything else) is that you add "[FS]" to the beginning of your message
so that people who don't want to view for sale messages can filter it out.

That's IT! There are NOT any other requirements other than that Nada!

NO! NO! NO! Do NOT apologize, John! YOU have done NOTHING
wrong! You merely had the misfortune of meeting some VERY rude and
selfish people who have this strange idea that just because they read
this mailing list, they have some "right" to advance notice or "first pick"
of the OM equipment being sold by other readers of the list.

Those people are WRONG, John! The do NOT have ANY say in how or
where YOU decide to sell YOUR equipment or, for that matter, how
MUCH you sell it for! That's up to YOU, and ONLY you, to decide!

In fact, please allowl ME to apologize to YOU on behalf of everyone on
this list (probably 990f the membership) who are SHOCKED and
dismayed at the way you've been treated! I'm VERY sorry that certain
bozos have harrassed you! Please DON'T feel that those bozos
represent the prevailing attitude of the readers of this list because they
DON'T!

> I should just keep my trap closed and keep the 350 to myself

That's YOUR choice, John. But, if you do decide to keep selling it on e-
Bay, I wish you success in getting the best price for it!

Regards,

Chris
